SPEAKER'S PROFILE
He is an influential writer and speaker in the fields of the professional development of L&D and of technology-supported learning.
He was the 2007 recipient of the Colin Corder award for services to training and has chaired the Learning Technologies Conference since 2000.
He also chairs the Learning and Skills Group, hosting its bi-weekly webinar programme, and edits Inside Learning Technologies Magazine.
He is a graduate of Oxford University and in 2016 was awarded an honorary doctorate by Middlesex University in recognition of his work developing the L&D profession.
In this 60-minute webinar, Gideon Tan will share with you Celcom’s experience in the implementation of digital learning. Celcom was one of the first companies in Malaysia to invest in a corporate integrated learning platform.
Celcom has embarked on major digital learning projects.
Gideon will share the Celcom journey, what has worked and things that could have worked better. You will come away with practical tips to do, and to avoid, to develop a digital learning culture in your organisation.

Gideon is the Head of Learning & Competency Development for Celcom Axiata, overseeing its L&D strategy & operations. Prior to joining Celcom in 2017, he held numerous HR leadership & advisory roles in various organizations. Gideon’s professional experience spans across multi-industries & organizational setups from boutique start-up to large multinational organizations including telco, hospitality & gaming, professional services, investment banking & financial services, & property development.
Having been in professional consulting as well as corporate environments, Gideon’s expertise encompasses a wide range of experiences which include HR Organization Development, Talent Management, Learning Tech implementation, Strategic Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Succession Planning, Change Management & Performance Management.
Being a member of the Axiata family, he was tasked with the setting up of a future-oriented learning ecosystem in support of the Axiata Group’s L&D ambition to establish an Axiata corporate university. His efforts in a pilot iteration at Celcom eventually set the stage for groupwide adoption across operating companies in South Asia & Southeast Asia.

Lori evolved the Syzygy® Methodology in her work with leading organizations to design, develop, deploy and assess their learning strategy, journeys, experiences and resources. Syzygy® is based on developmental psychology, behavioural & organizational change, systems thinking and human-centred design.
She has won awards for innovation in learning for solutions designed with Teams with whom she has collaborated.

In a digital world, L&D needs to adopt “the Steve Jobs mindset”. We need to treat our learners as our customers and learning tools as the products we need to sell and market to our customers. Learners today have the choice of whether to adopt your digital learning tools. Like Steve Jobs, we need to position our products to create the demand.
Monir Azzouzi comes from a marketing background. With these marketing skills, he has brought different thinking to how to attract learners, how to improve course content, and how to use the most valuable marketing tool now available to L&D – analytics.
George Aveling will moderate this session. George is a writer who comes from a marketing background. George will share with the audience key principles to help L&D become more effective marketers, to have learners banging on your doors to enroll for training courses!

In Gojek, Southeast Asia’s first Superapp, he’s playing a critical role in transforming HR from being Start-Up centric to a more corporate version. He’s the heading the HRBP function globally for all tech and platform talents in Gojek.
He’s also leading everything related to people, organisational and IT infra matters in GoToko, a joint venture between Unilever and Gojek. In Maxis, Malaysia’s largest telecommunication company, he was heading Performance Management, Organisational Development as well as Employee Experience.
Monir’s experience in fast paced digital companies makes him play a critical role in transforming HR departments from conventional units to ones that adds real value to the business by focusing on employee experience, marketing, changing mindsets, leadership and preparing people and organisations for the digital age.
